Kyoto kids parade

We did this parade today.  N was dressed as a samurai and M was dressed in Kimono with a crown.  There was a pretend military (?) parade with taiko drums, "archers," "samurai," flag bearers, god knows what else.  What is the festival? I have no idea, but monday is a national holiday.  5 miles in 4 hours.  I'm drinking a beer.  I'll post pictures later.
